Professor of Medicine at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine; Chief of the Department of Ultrasound in Medicine; Board Member for the International Contrast Ultrasound Society and one of Editorial Board of Journal of Cancer Letters
Country: China
Prof Pintong Huang has expertise in the fields of ultrasound imaging and interventional ultrasound; and is currently the principal investigator on several grants from the National Nature Foundation from China. His research laboratory has pioneered the use of contrast ultrasound for non-invasive molecular imaging of disease and the use of ultrasound mediated microbubble cavitation to treat the tumors or diabetes type-2 in animal models by means of low frequency ultrasound.
His specific areas of research include: (a) assessment of neovascularization with plaque using CEUS; (b) application of CEUS for early detection of HCC and evaluation of therapeutic effect by ultrasound-guided ablation; (c) tumor therapy using ultrasound mediated microbubble cavitation; (d) ultrasound mediated microbubble cavitation gene therapy for diabetes type 2 monkey, and (e) development of novel equipment for UMMD therapy.
Prof. Pintong Huang is one of the Board Member for the International Contrast Ultrasound Society and one of Editorial Board of Journal of Cancer Letters; the Chair of the Ultrasound Molecular Imaging and Artificial Intelligent Committee for the Chinese Ultrasound Doctor’s Association; the Chair of interventional ultrasound Committee of Chinese Ultrasound Doctor’s Association; and is the Vice Chairman of Medical Imaging society of Chinese Stroke Association.
